The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Biodun Oyebamiji, has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of playing the victim to gain sympathy ahead of Saturday's governorship election.

Oyebamiji rejected Adeleke's repeated accusations that APC members were behind attacks on his administration and supporters, insisting that he and other APC members were the actual victims of political violence in the state.

He alleged that more than 25 APC members were killed during the 2022 governorship election, while several other party members and residents had been killed or attacked since 2023.

Oyebamiji cited the killing of Remi Abass, chairman of Irewole Local Government Area, at the council secretariat as one of the incidents his party had documented. He also alleged that APC members were recently attacked in Ede, Governor Adeleke's hometown.

The APC candidate further referred to recent comments by the Inspector-General of Police concerning allegations that individuals accused of criminal activities were being accommodated at the Government House, saying the claims required serious attention.

He accused the Adeleke administration of using allegations of political violence to portray itself as a victim, while calling on Osun residents to reject intimidation and support his candidacy.

Oyebamiji also outlined some of his plans if elected, including reviewing outstanding entitlements owed to workers and retirees, making the Dagbolu Dry Port operational, training and empowering 10,000 young people in ICT, and establishing monthly State Security Council meetings.
