Ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived early at various polling units in Ilesa, Osun State, as voting commenced in the 2026 governorship election.
PUNCH correspondents monitoring the exercise reported early arrival of INEC personnel at Ward 1, Unit 8 and Ward 8, Unit 3, both in Ilesa West Local Government Area.
Voters were also seen checking their names on the registers pasted near the polling booths ahead of accreditation and voting.
The early deployment of election officials comes as voters across Osun State participate in the governorship poll, with security personnel also deployed to maintain order and protect the electoral process.
