Kebbi Gov Creates New District, Appoints Traditional Rulers
Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris has created Buma District in Dandi LGA and appointed Salisu Hakimi as its District Head, while Nasiru Umar Maizabo was appointed Village Head of Marafan Garin Haruna in Augie LGA.
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved the creation of a new district comprising eight village areas in Dandi Local Government Area and appointed two traditional rulers as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots administration.
The newly created Buma District was carved out of Dolekaina District in Dandi LGA, with Salisu Hakimi appointed as its District Head.
The district comprises eight village areas: Tunga Rafi, Gamana, Tudunsan, Gillare, Bump Town, Goraro, Bukki and Alfarma Kwara.
The governor also approved the appointment of Nasiru Umar Maizabo as the Village Head of Marafan Garin Haruna in Tiggi District, Augie Local Government Area.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsinmari, said the decisions were made in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, particularly Section 10, Subsections A and B.
He urged the newly appointed traditional rulers to demonstrate discipline, honesty, transparency and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities.
The government said the creation of the district and the appointments were aimed at strengthening traditional institutions and improving grassroots governance in the affected communities.
