Kano Gov Urges 1,500 Newlyweds to Uphold Justice, Respect

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has urged 1,500 couples who benefited from the state government's mass wedding programme to build their homes on patience, justice, mutual respect and understanding.

Yusuf made the call while addressing the newly married couples, reminding them that marriage is an act of worship that should be conducted in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.

The governor urged the couples to respect one another, uphold fairness and ensure peaceful coexistence in their homes, stressing that strong families contribute to stable communities.

He also advised the newlyweds to put into practice lessons from their pre-marital counselling sessions, particularly on patience, understanding and mutual respect, which he said were essential to sustaining peaceful homes.

The governor prayed for Allah's blessings upon the marriages and for the couples to be blessed with righteous children who would contribute positively to their families, society and humanity.

The mass wedding programme, coordinated by the Kano State Hisbah Board, was organised as part of the state government's social intervention efforts to support vulnerable residents and reduce the financial burden associated with marriage.
