Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration has paid more than ₦80bn in inherited pension liabilities and cleared over two-thirds of the half-salary arrears owed by the state.

Adeleke made the claim during an Osun governorship town hall meeting, where he defended his administration’s record ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

The governor said his administration had delivered beyond expectations despite inheriting significant financial obligations from previous administrations.

According to him, the payment of pension and salary-related arrears formed part of his administration’s efforts to improve the welfare of pensioners and workers in the state.

Adeleke also highlighted other achievements of his administration, including road construction and rehabilitation, healthcare improvements and other infrastructure projects.

He maintained that his government had made substantial progress despite the financial challenges it inherited and urged voters to assess his administration based on its record.

The governor is seeking re-election in the August 15 poll, where he faces the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and candidates from other political parties.

Adeleke has repeatedly defended his performance against opposition criticism, insisting that his administration has delivered tangible improvements across Osun State.
