FRSC Promotes 7,472 Personnel Nationwide

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 7,472 personnel nationwide as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, leadership and road safety operations.

The promotion covers 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals, according to the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri.

Ohaeri said the promotion was designed to reward merit and recognise the dedication, competence, discipline and years of service of personnel who had distinguished themselves in their duties.

He added that Heads of Departments, Corps Officers, Heads of Special Units and Commanding Officers had been directed to decorate the newly promoted personnel under their respective commands from Aug. 26 to Aug. 28.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the promotion as both a reward and a responsibility, urging the beneficiaries to justify the confidence placed in them.

He said every new rank should translate into higher professionalism, accountability, leadership and improved service delivery.

Mohammed stressed that the effectiveness of the FRSC depended not only on patrol vehicles, technology and enforcement structures but also on the quality and commitment of its personnel.

He urged the newly promoted officers and marshals to maintain discipline, treat members of the public with dignity and uphold the integrity of the Corps.

The promotion comes as the FRSC intensifies its operational, technological and public enlightenment efforts to reduce road crashes and improve compliance with traffic regulations nationwide.

The Corps said a motivated and professionally developed workforce was essential to sustaining its road safety interventions and delivering measurable improvements.

Mohammed congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, reminding them that rank should ultimately be measured by service.
