Three Flying Eagles players, Abdulmuiz Adeleke, Oraro Lucky and Odinaka Alfred, have been named in the WAFU B U20 Team of the Tournament, with Adeleke also finishing as the competition’s top scorer with five goals.
Three Nigeria Flying Eagles players, Abdulmuiz Adeleke, Oraro Lucky and Odinaka Alfred, have been named in the official WAFU B U20 Team of the Tournament following the conclusion of the championship.
Adeleke, who played as a forward, finished as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals. Lucky was selected in midfield, while Alfred earned his place in the defence.
Although Nigeria failed to win the tournament, the trio impressed the Technical Study Group with their consistency and performances during the competition.
The official team was selected in a 4-4-2 formation, with Burkina Faso coach Oscar Barro named as the coach after guiding his team to the WAFU B U20 title.
The recognition highlights the individual performances of the three Nigerian youngsters despite the Flying Eagles falling short of winning the championship.
