Fidelity Bank Deepens Food Relief Efforts, Supports Over 1,000 Families in Kogi
Fidelity Bank supports over 1,000 Kogi families with essential food items through its Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.
Fidelity Bank Plc has continued its efforts to tackle food insecurity and support vulnerable households with the distribution of essential food items to more than 1,000 families in Kogi State through its Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.
The latest intervention took place at the Youth Centre in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, as part of the bank’s ongoing food relief programme across different parts of Nigeria.
The initiative reflects Fidelity Bank’s commitment to creating positive social impact and supporting communities across the country.
Since its launch in April 2023, the Fidelity Food Bank has reached hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries nationwide, providing critical assistance to families experiencing economic hardship.
The programme also contributes to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, which focuses on achieving Zero Hunger.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Regional Bank Head, North Central II, Fidelity Bank Plc, Blessing Onwumere, described the initiative as one of the bank’s most far-reaching Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions.
According to her, the programme was established to help reduce hunger and improve the wellbeing of underserved populations.
Onwumere added that the initiative reinforces Fidelity Bank’s belief that businesses have a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the communities they serve.
The Kogi intervention therefore forms part of the bank’s broader efforts to provide practical support to vulnerable Nigerians while promoting community wellbeing and social development.
