Fermin Lopez Reacts to Ronald Araujo's Move to Liverpool
Fermin Lopez expresses sadness as Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo completes a loan move to Liverpool.
Barcelona attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez has expressed regret over club captain Ronald Araujo’s departure following the defender’s move to Liverpool.
It is disappointing to see a key leader leave the Spanish club, while acknowledging the defender's decision to pursue further career growth in the Premier League. The 27-year-old Uruguayan international completed a season-long loan deal to join the English club on Monday.
Araujo played a prominent role in Barcelona’s squad during their recent domestic campaign, scoring three goals across 24 appearances.
The defender visited the team to bid farewell before making his transition to England. Lopez highlighted their strong relationship and expressed hope that the club captain would return to Barcelona at the conclusion of his loan spell.
