Cameroon have reached the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 after defeating hosts Morocco 3-1 on penalties following a dramatic goalless semi-final in Rabat on Wednesday night.

The Indomitable Lionesses held their nerve during the shootout at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium after both sides failed to find the breakthrough during 120 minutes of action.

Morocco had a major opportunity to settle the contest in extra time but Fatima Tagnaout missed a crucial penalty, allowing Cameroon to maintain their hopes of reaching the final.

Cameroon were composed when the match went to penalties, converting three of their four attempts.

Marie Ngah, Rose Bella and Myriam Nyadjou successfully found the net for the Indomitable Lionesses, giving their side a decisive advantage in the shootout.

Morocco, meanwhile, struggled under the pressure.

Hanane Aït El Haj was the only Atlas Lioness to convert her penalty, while Kenza Chapelle, Meryem Atiq and Sakina Ouzraoui all failed to score from the spot.

The victory represents another major knockout success for Cameroon at the tournament.

The Indomitable Lionesses had already eliminated defending champions Nigeria in the quarter-finals, defeating the Super Falcons 1-0 to end their hopes of retaining the continental title.

Cameroon have now secured their place in their fourth WAFCON final, continuing an impressive run through the knockout stages of the competition.

For Morocco, the defeat represents a major setback, particularly after reaching the final in the previous two editions.

The hosts had hoped to use home advantage to secure their first continental title, but their campaign ended in disappointment after a tense encounter that remained goalless throughout regulation time and extra time.

Cameroon’s resilience ultimately proved decisive as they prevailed in the penalty shootout and booked their place in the continental showpiece.

The Indomitable Lionesses will now turn their attention to the final, where they will aim to complete their impressive campaign by lifting the WAFCON trophy.

Morocco, meanwhile, will have to settle for another near miss after falling short of reaching the final for a third consecutive edition.
