The Confederation of African Football has confirmed key dates and host countries for its major competitions in the 2026-27 season, saying the move will provide greater certainty for member associations, commercial partners and supporters.

CAF announced that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, will take place from June 19 to July 17, 2027, with the qualifying competition beginning in September 2026.

The CAF Super Cup is scheduled for November 8, 2026, in Tshwane, South Africa, with Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns facing Confederation Cup holders USM Alger.

Ghana will host the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in February and March 2027, while Morocco will stage the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in April and May. Egypt will host the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympic Games.

Morocco will host the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations from October 12 to 21, 2026, while Senegal will stage the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in November.

For the major inter-club competitions, the first preliminary round of the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will be played from September 4 to 6, with the return legs scheduled for September 11 to 13.

CAF said it had also made progress on the proposed African Nations League, with the competition format discussed by its Executive Committee.

The football governing body said the more predictable calendar would enable member associations to plan effectively while giving players clearer competitive pathways and providing broadcasters, sponsors and supporters with greater visibility around major events.
