APM Dismisses Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council as ‘Dead on Arrival’

The Allied Peoples’ Movement has dismissed President Bola Tinubu’s newly constituted 2027 campaign council as “dead on arrival”, accusing its members of lacking the credibility and public goodwill needed to secure the President’s re-election.

APM National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, made the position known in a statement on Saturday, particularly criticising the appointment of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari as Director-General of the campaign council.

Yusuf described the council as an assembly of “yes men”, political sycophants and what the party called politically discredited figures.

He argued that the composition of the council reflected what APM described as Tinubu’s declining political standing and inability to attract credible personalities with sufficient public confidence to lead his campaign.

The party also criticised Tinubu’s administration over insecurity and economic hardship, alleging that worsening living conditions and the government’s economic policies had negatively affected millions of Nigerians.

APM further cited the recent Osun governorship election as a warning to the Tinubu campaign, claiming that the outcome demonstrated declining support for the President ahead of the 2027 election.

The party said its presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, offered Nigerians an alternative based on what it described as transparent, people-oriented governance.

It said Makinde’s proposed agenda would focus on security, industrialisation, youth employment, infrastructure, public-service reform and sustainable economic development.

APM urged Nigerians to reject the Tinubu administration in 2027 and support what it described as a new beginning under a proposed Makinde-led government.
