Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents to reject any attempt to return the state to what he described as the era of half salaries, insisting that his administration remains committed to protecting workers' welfare and improving their standard of living.

In a message shared ahead of the August 15 governorship election, Adeleke alleged that civil servants endured severe hardship under the previous administration, with many receiving half salaries and struggling to meet their basic needs. He appealed to eligible voters to support his re-election bid to sustain the gains recorded by his government.

The governor said workers' welfare has remained a top priority since he assumed office, noting that his administration has implemented policies aimed at improving the livelihoods of civil servants and pensioners. He maintained that the progress achieved should not be reversed through a change in leadership.

Adeleke also claimed that the recent freezing of one of the state's accounts would not weaken the resolve of his administration or the people of Osun. He urged supporters to remain peaceful, participate actively in the electoral process and vote for what he described as continued progress and good governance.

The governor expressed confidence that the people of Osun would make the right choice at the polls, saying the forthcoming election presents an opportunity to preserve the state's development trajectory and protect the welfare of its workforce.
