2Baba Condemns Benue Killings, Says Nigeria Can No Longer Remain Silent

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has condemned the renewed killings in Benue State, saying the country can no longer pretend that the persistent violence is normal. He described the attacks as a national emergency requiring urgent action from all stakeholders.

The Benue-born singer expressed deep sorrow over the continued bloodshed, saying he was heartbroken, angry, frustrated by the recurring attacks on innocent residents. He stressed that repeated condemnations alone were no longer enough to address the crisis.

2Baba called on the Federal Government, Benue State Government, security agencies, community leaders to work together in finding lasting solutions to the insecurity. He urged authorities to move beyond rhetoric and take decisive steps to protect lives and restore peace in affected communities.

The singer noted that the killings have continued despite previous appeals from citizens and public figures, insisting that every stakeholder has a responsibility to confront the situation before it worsens further. He maintained that the safety of Nigerians must remain a top priority.

2Baba appealed for unity in tackling the security challenges facing Benue and other parts of the country, expressing hope that collective action would bring an end to the violence and prevent further loss of innocent lives.
