Air Peace has reduced its Abuja–London flight operations to three times per week following ongoing constraints in the supply of Jet A1 (aviation fuel).
The airline disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, noting that the adjustment is temporary and will remain in effect until July 1. Before the change, the carrier operated daily flights on the route.
According to the airline, the decision was driven by current aviation fuel shortages affecting flight operations both within Nigeria and globally. It explained that the move is aimed at maintaining safety standards and ensuring operational efficiency during the period of supply challenges.
“We wish to inform you that our Abuja to London service has been temporarily adjusted to three weekly flights until July 1,” the airline stated.
“This is due to the current aviation fuel supply constraints affecting flight operations nationwide and around the world. This measure is necessary to maintain the highest standards of safety and operational reliability.”
Air Peace assured passengers that full flight frequency on its London service is expected to resume from July 1, subject to improvements in fuel availability.
The airline acknowledged that the schedule change may disrupt travel plans and expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and understanding. It added that it is closely monitoring the situation and working with relevant stakeholders to address the challenge.
The carrier reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and customer-focused services despite the disruption.
The development highlights ongoing pressures in Nigeria’s aviation sector, where fluctuating fuel supply and rising operational costs continue to impact airlines’ scheduling and capacity decisions.
