Nigerian Army troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued three kidnapped civilians following a swift response to a distress call in Kushere Village, Kaduna State.
This was contained in an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the report, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when armed bandits invaded the community and abducted three residents identified as Abdullahi, Saidu Julfe, and Kamilu Joddi.
Troops deployed from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Dokan Karji responded to a distress call received at about 1:00 a.m. and immediately mobilised to the area.
On arrival, the soldiers discovered that the attackers had already fled with the victims towards the Kafin Gora axis.
The troops pursued the kidnappers, leading to an exchange of fire during which the three hostages were successfully rescued unharmed.
The bandits reportedly fled under pressure, abandoning the victims.
The report added that the general security situation in the area remains calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and operational efficiency remain high.
The military said it continues to sustain offensive operations against criminal elements across the North-West and North-Central regions to restore security.
