Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday issued a stern warning to politicians he accused of supporting acts of betrayal against him, declaring that they would ultimately suffer grave consequences.
Wike spoke in Port Harcourt while commissioning the Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office. In an emotionally charged address, the former Rivers State governor targeted senators, members of the House of Representatives, ministers, and governors whom he alleged were aligning with those working against him politically.
He warned that anyone who supports betrayal would, in time, become a victim of the same act. According to him, betrayal is a seed that inevitably produces a corresponding harvest.
“Whether you are a senator, House of Reps member, minister or governor, and you support betrayals, people will continue to betray you in life. Betrayal is your portion,” Wike said.
He further declared that when such individuals eventually face betrayal themselves, they would be powerless to respond.
“The day you will be betrayed, you will not have mouth to say anything. There you will collapse and go and they will announce that so-so person has died,” he stated.
Wike also directed his remarks at governors serving second terms and those seeking to install successors, cautioning that backing betrayal would jeopardize their political survival.
“That is the seed you have planted and whatever you plant, you will reap. Since you are planting betrayal, betrayal will follow you everywhere,” he added. “Every governor who is doing second tenure and has ambition to put a successor and is supporting betrayal, you will never survive it.”
His comments underscore escalating political tensions within Rivers State.
