Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, where both leaders discussed issues bordering on regional cooperation, security and national development.

Soludo disclosed the visit in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, describing his reception by the President as warm and cordial. According to him, President Tinubu personally congratulated him on his victory in the recently concluded Anambra State governorship election, which he described as a reflection of the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of the state.

The governor expressed appreciation for the President’s goodwill and continued support for Anambra, stressing the need for stronger regional cooperation, institutional reforms and people centred policies to build a safer, more prosperous and united country. He reaffirmed his belief in a united Nigeria and pledged continued commitment to the progress of both Anambra State and the nation.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Soludo joined other governors and traditional rulers from Southern Nigeria at a high level meeting in Iperu, Ogun State, where a comprehensive framework was unveiled to address security, economic resilience and governance challenges in the region.

In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the joint meeting of the Southern Governors’ Forum and the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council adopted a multi dimensional strategy to strengthen regional stability and development. The leaders also passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and ongoing economic reforms.

Key resolutions included the establishment of a zonal security fund, enhanced intelligence sharing, sustained advocacy for creation of state police, a harmonised resident identification system and improved collaboration among regional security outfits. The forum also pledged stronger land and mining governance and greater institutional support for traditional rulers.
