President Bola Tinubu on Monday expressed strong confidence in Nigeria’s ability to defeat terrorism and banditry, assuring citizens that criminal elements threatening national peace and security would be overcome through sustained and coordinated efforts by the nation’s security leadership.
The President made the remarks while commending the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, whom he described as honest, bold, courageous, and fully committed to his responsibilities. Tinubu noted that Ribadu’s personal integrity and experience have been instrumental in strengthening the country’s security framework at a time of persistent challenges.
Speaking during his official visit to Adamawa State, the President said Ribadu’s home state has every reason to be proud of his service to the nation. He added that he personally shares in that pride, given the NSA’s dedication to restoring peace and stability across the country.
According to Tinubu, the Federal Government remains resolute in its determination to address insecurity in all its forms, including terrorism and banditry. He emphasized that under Ribadu’s leadership, the security agencies are better positioned to improve intelligence gathering, enhance inter-agency cooperation, and carry out effective operations aimed at protecting lives and property.
The President further assured Nigerians that his administration would continue to provide the necessary political will and institutional support required to strengthen national security. He stressed that defeating terrorists and bandits is a top priority and a collective responsibility that the government is committed to pursuing without compromise.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists,” Tinubu said, reaffirming his confidence in Ribadu’s leadership and the ability of the security services to overcome the country’s security challenges and ensure a safer Nigeria for all citizens.
