The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has said President Bola Tinubu’s administration is laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s long term economic growth and shared prosperity.
Idris made the remark in Abuja while receiving members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu 2027 during a courtesy visit, according to a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Malam Rabiu Ibrahim.
The minister said the Federal Government had taken decisive and sometimes difficult policy measures aimed at stabilising the economy and restoring investor confidence, noting that early signs of recovery were beginning to emerge across key sectors.
According to him, the progress recorded so far represents the groundwork for sustainable development, which must be protected through unity, responsible communication, and collective support for national policies.
He warned that misleading narratives about the country could undermine investor confidence and slow national development, urging Nigerians to project stability and speak truthfully about the nation’s economic direction.
Idris commended the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu 2027 for its civic engagement and commitment to promoting accurate public information. He also welcomed the group’s proposal to partner with the Federal Ministry of Information and the National Orientation Agency on public enlightenment, youth engagement, and strategic communication.
The minister reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that the administration remained focused on improving the lives of all Nigerians irrespective of religion or background.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of GAT 2027, Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele, said the visit was to brief the minister on the group’s activities and express support for his mandate of clarifying government policies and countering misinformation, particularly among young people.
