Suspected Lakurawa fighters have reportedly launched a fresh attack on communities in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, razing homes and forcing residents to flee.

The incident was revealed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X, where he disclosed that the attackers targeted Kawara and surrounding villages, leaving widespread destruction in their wake.

According to the report, several houses were set ablaze, with families losing their homes, belongings, and sources of livelihood. The scale of the damage has reportedly displaced many residents, worsening the humanitarian situation in the affected communities.

One of the victims, identified as Salisu, was said to have lost everything after his home was consumed by fire during the attack. The destruction, according to sources, has left many survivors struggling to cope with the aftermath.

Reports further indicated that some of the attackers were later neutralised following a confrontation with security operatives and local vigilantes in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Despite the reported security response, the impact of the attack remains severe, with affected residents facing significant losses and displacement.

The latest incident highlights ongoing security challenges in parts of northern Nigeria, where communities continue to grapple with armed attacks, destruction of property, and threats to livelihoods.
