Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the men’s team.
The Premier League side announced the decision in a statement released on their official website on Tuesday, expressing confidence that the 41 year old will provide strong leadership and a clear football identity as the club targets domestic and European success.
Rosenior joins the Blues following an impressive spell with French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, where he guided the club to European qualification in his debut season, ending a 19 year wait for continental football.
The former England youth international also previously worked in England with Derby County and Hull City, earning plaudits for his tactical discipline and emphasis on player development.
Chelsea said the appointment reflects their belief in Rosenior’s ability to build competitive teams while maintaining high professional standards both on and off the pitch.
“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team,” the club stated, adding that it looks forward to his leadership.
Speaking on his return to the Premier League, Rosenior described the opportunity as an honour, saying Chelsea is a club defined by ambition, unity and a winning tradition.
He pledged to uphold the club’s identity while creating a team that competes aggressively and consistently at the highest level.
The former defender has signed a contract with Chelsea running until 2032.
The club added that while youth development will remain important, expectations are high, with Rosenior backed to deliver immediate results and sustained success across all competitions.
