The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has unveiled plans to train 8,400 Nigerians in digital skills as part of activities marking the 84th birthday of its General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye.

The initiative, described as a flagship empowerment programme, is aimed at equipping youths, young adults, church members and the general public with practical, income-generating digital competencies in response to rising unemployment and the growth of the global digital economy.

The programme is being coordinated by Love Transformation Academy, the empowerment arm of RCCG Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1, in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants. Training will be delivered across RCCG parishes within Continent 3.

Speaking during a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, the Continent 3 Overseer, Johnson Odesola, said the initiative reflects the church’s commitment to both spiritual and socio-economic transformation.

According to him, the digital empowerment scheme is designed to create lasting value by preparing participants for opportunities in the digital space. He explained that the programme aligns with the church’s Vision 2032 agenda for growth and transformation.

Courses to be offered include video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, content creation, and monetisation of digital skills. Odesola disclosed that all training would be free of charge and registration would be on a first-come, first-served basis.

He added that RCCG parishes across regions, provinces and zones in Continent 3 would serve as study centres to ensure accessibility and grassroots participation. Training sessions will be broadcast via Zoom, allowing participants to join from their local parishes while benefiting from centralised instruction.

The initiative’s coordinator, Richard Ayibiowu, described the programme as a faith-driven response to current economic realities, noting that the church must go beyond preaching hope to creating practical platforms for empowerment.

He said participants would also receive mentorship, follow-up support and opportunities to integrate into community-based projects. The programme is open to both church members and non-members.

The empowerment scheme forms part of activities commemorating Adeboye’s 84th birthday and underscores his long-standing emphasis on youth development, education and national transformation. Registration details are available through RCCG administrative offices across Continent 3.
