A deadly suicide attack rocked Peshawar on Monday, leaving three members of Pakistan’s paramilitary Federal Constabulary dead and four others injured. The assault occurred at the security headquarters located along Saddar Road, one of the busiest routes in the city, just minutes before the morning rush hour.

Peshawar police chief, Mian Saeed, confirmed that the incident unfolded around 8:10 am when three attackers moved toward the main entrance of the compound. One of the assailants detonated an explosive device at the gate, instantly killing the officers stationed there. The remaining two attackers were swiftly neutralised by security personnel during the exchange of gunfire.

An AFP correspondent at the scene reported that body parts believed to be from the suicide bomber were scattered near the entrance, while the gate and surrounding walls bore multiple shrapnel impact marks from the blast.

Authorities immediately cordoned off the area as bomb disposal experts and tactical units launched a clearance operation. Zulfiqar Hameed, police chief of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, told AFP that investigators were searching the entire premises to ensure no secondary devices or unexploded materials remained.
