Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika says he is fully motivated and ready to take on Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, following his recent return from injury.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Nigerian midfielder admitted that the match would be a major test but expressed confidence in his team’s spirit and preparation.

“It won’t be an easy task, of course. But everyone here is looking forward to it. We know what’s coming, but we can’t be afraid,” Onyedika said.

Brugge manager Nicky Hayen echoed his player’s confidence in a separate interview with AS, stressing that the Belgian champions will not sit back against the Spanish giants.

“We’ve been playing well in recent matches. They’re one of the best teams in the world. We’ll play high up the pitch, attacking and man-marking,” the 45-year-old coach said.

Hayen also cautioned Barcelona against underestimating Brugge’s form, noting that his side is eager to make a statement.

“Barça shouldn’t be overconfident. We’ve been consistent recently and will play an attacking game. It’s a special match for us, and to win, we have to stay focused and give 100%,” he added.

With the home crowd expected to fill the stadium, Hayen believes their support will be a key factor.

“We’re motivated. We have to play with a cool head, but the fans will be behind us. It’s going to be a great match,” he said.

The upcoming tie is being viewed as a major test of Brugge’s European credentials, with Onyedika’s return providing a crucial boost to the team’s midfield strength.

The 24-year-old made his comeback in Brugge’s 2–1 win over Dender at the weekend, featuring for 28 minutes after recovering from a muscular injury that had sidelined him for seven games, including recent Champions League fixtures against Bayern Munich and Atalanta.
