Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved compensation for the families of victims affected by the killing in Oloka community, as security agencies confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the incident.
The arrests followed an intensive investigation by state security operatives, who tracked the suspects after weeks of intelligence gathering and community cooperation. Authorities say further arrests may follow as investigations continue.
Governor Makinde, while addressing community leaders, expressed condolences to the affected families and condemned the act, describing it as unacceptable and contrary to the values of the state. He assured residents that justice would be served and that no individual involved would be shielded.
The state government announced financial compensation as part of efforts to support the bereaved families and ease the immediate hardship caused by the tragedy. Makinde also directed security agencies to strengthen surveillance and community policing in the area to prevent future incidents.
Community leaders welcomed the government’s response but called for sustained security presence and long term measures to address underlying causes of violence, including youth unemployment and criminal infiltration.
