Primary school teachers in Ogun State are celebrating what they describe as a historic milestone following Governor Dapo Abioduns approval of a major salary upgrade. The Nigeria Union of Teachers confirmed that degree holding primary school teachers have now been placed on Grade Level Seventeen.
Union leaders praised the governor for addressing long standing demands and restoring dignity to the teaching profession. They described the decision as a morale booster that will improve productivity and attract qualified professionals into primary education.
Education stakeholders believe the policy could strengthen foundational learning and improve overall academic outcomes in the state.
