FilmOne Entertainment, West Africa’s leading distributor of Nollywood and international films, has strengthened its commitment to indigenous storytelling with the release of Warlord: Olori Ogun. The title premiered on Wednesday, 26 November, and is produced by Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP) in partnership with FilmOne Studios. It is directed by Odunlade Adekola, Tope Adebayo and Abiodun Olanrewaju.

The film, which earned an impressive ₦47 million in its opening weekend, is rooted deeply in Yoruba culture. It tells the story of a fearless warrior navigating family conflicts, defending his community and safeguarding his heritage. Blending history, drama and traditional values, Warlord: Olori Ogun offers audiences a cinematic experience anchored in Nigerian identity.

The premiere attracted major Nollywood figures, including Toyin Abraham, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Mike Ezuruonye, Itele D Icon, Kie Kie and Bisola Aiyeola. Cast members, filmmakers and film enthusiasts gathered for the first public showing, with the red carpet filled with vibrant and elaborate native attire.

Speaking during the premiere, Producer and Lead Actor Odunlade Adekola said the audience should expect a powerful and exceptional film, noting that he was proud of what the team achieved.

The screening held guests fully engaged with its strong performances from Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo Salami, Ibrahim Chatta and others.

Following its premiere, Warlord: Olori Ogun opened nationwide on Friday, 28 November. FilmOne’s distribution of the title reflects its ongoing mission to promote African stories and ensure culturally rich films reach cinema audiences across the country.
