The Northern Senators Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Senator Godiya Akwashiki describing his passing as a significant loss to the nation and the northern region in particular.
In a statement released by the forum leadership members praised Akwashiki for his dedication to public service legislative excellence and commitment to grassroots development. They noted that he served with integrity courage and unwavering commitment to the people he represented.
Akwashiki was remembered as a lawmaker who prioritized education rural development and social welfare. Colleagues recalled his active participation in debates and committee work aimed at improving governance and national unity.
The forum extended condolences to the family government and people of his state. They described his death as painful and untimely noting that his contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey would not be forgotten.
