Prominent Nollywood actors and actresses gathered to pay tribute to the late producer and colleague, Allwell Ademola, during a Service of Songs held in her honour.
The event, widely shared on social media, featured several industry figures participating in a “wrap prayer” to commemorate Ademola’s life and career. Actors Afeez Abiodun, Rotimi Salami, and Kunle Afod were seen taking part in the service, with Salami, known as one of Ademola’s closest friends, delivering a heartfelt tribute.
Addressing the gathering, Salami urged attendees, “If there’s anyone Allwell has offended, directly or indirectly, please forgive her and keep praying for her.” He held back tears as he spoke, stressing the need to preserve her legacy in the industry. “The only thing we can actually do is to find a way in unity to keep her legacy. Even if she’s gone, let all that she has done stay with us and be with us,” he added.
The service drew several notable Nollywood personalities, including Odunlade Adekola, Saheed Balogun, Bolaji Amusan, Abiola Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Fausat Balogun, Eniola Ajao, and Fathia Balogun.
Industry observers noted that the gathering reflected the deep respect and admiration Ademola commanded in Nollywood. Attendees described the event as a moment to celebrate her contributions to film production while offering prayers for her soul.
The Service of Songs was followed by private family and close-friend memorial arrangements, allowing colleagues to reflect on her life and impact on the Nigerian film industry.
