The National Film and Video Censors Board has responded to protests by the Christian Association of Nigeria over the film title Very Dirty Christmas. The board said it has engaged filmmakers and assured that the title will be modified to address public concerns.
According to the NFVCB, freedom of creativity must be balanced with sensitivity to cultural and religious values. The board reaffirmed its commitment to regulation that promotes harmony while supporting the creative industry.
CAN welcomed the assurance and urged continuous dialogue between regulators and content creators.
