Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 47-year-old businessman who had been on the agency’s wanted list for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
According to NDLEA officials, the suspect was apprehended following weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance. He was reportedly tracked across multiple locations before being arrested in a coordinated operation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the businessman is suspected to be part of a wider drug distribution network operating across state lines. NDLEA spokespersons confirmed that several exhibits were recovered during the arrest, although full details are expected to be released after further investigation.
The agency described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in its ongoing war against illicit drug trade in Nigeria. “This operation sends a clear message that no one is above the law,” an NDLEA official said.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug cartels and urged the public to continue providing credible intelligence.
