Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced a major cabinet reshuffle removing the Secretary to the State Government and appointing new officials into key positions. The decision is part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery in the state.
In a statement released by the governor’s office Makinde explained that the reshuffle was aimed at injecting new energy into the administration while addressing emerging governance challenges. He thanked outgoing officials for their service and contributions.
New appointees were drawn from diverse professional backgrounds including public administration law and finance. The governor urged them to align with his administration’s development agenda and demonstrate commitment to accountability.
Political observers view the reshuffle as a strategic move ahead of the second half of the administration’s tenure. Some analysts believe it is also intended to address internal party dynamics and reposition the government for effective policy execution.
Civil society groups have called on the new officials to prioritise transparency and citizen engagement especially in areas such as education healthcare and infrastructure.
The governor reiterated his commitment to delivering on campaign promises and urged residents to continue supporting his administration.
