It’s Time to Build Nigeria from the Ground Up: A Call to Patriots, Visionaries, and Nation-Builders
Early this morning, Comrade (Prince) Ewemade Konkons, a passionate Nigerian and active contributor on The Nigerian Stakeholders Group — a civic platform hosted by Hon. Kenneth Gbandi — penned a compelling message that struck a deep chord with me. His words were not just passionate reflections; they were a mirror held up to a nation grappling with itself. And more importantly, they are in total alignment with the vision and core philosophy of the Great Nigerian Assembly (GNA).
In his piece, he challenged the culture of blame and the illusion that national change rests solely on the shoulders of those in high office. He reminded us that the real transformation of Nigeria will not begin in Aso Rock or at the gates of the National Assembly. It begins in our homes, communities, local councils, and daily decisions. It begins with us.
For decades, we’ve complained. We’ve pointed fingers at every administration, condemned every regime, and lamented every policy failure. Sometimes justifiably. But too often, we’ve done so without holding ourselves accountable. We speak of corruption, injustice, and dysfunction as though they exist only in Abuja, forgetting that the faces of power are often our own — our classmates, uncles, pastors, neighbors… and in many cases, ourselves.
🔍 The Uncomfortable But Liberating Truth
Nigeria is not only led from the top — it is built, or broken, from the bottom.
- The local government chairman who misappropriates funds meant for clinics and schools.
- The councillor who vanishes until the next election cycle.
- The contractor who collects mobilization fees and abandons public projects — yet receives applause at family functions.
- The civil servant who delays your file until he is “settled.”
- The citizen who breaks traffic laws, evades taxes, or taps electricity illegally.
This is the Nigeria we often ignore when we’re shouting on Twitter. But this is the real Nigeria. And if we are part of the problem, then we must be part of the solution.
🛠️ What GNA Believes
At the Great Nigerian Assembly, we believe that only a Great Nigerian — one who can rise above personal ambition and think generationally — can build the nation we desire.
It’s no longer enough to protest from the sidelines or preach from social media. We must become the solution we seek.
We must reject:
- Entitlement without responsibility
- Criticism without contribution
- Hope without hard work
📢 TO EVERY NIGERIAN:
- Stop blaming only the man in Aso Rock when your own street representative is looting community funds.
- Hold local leaders accountable — if they can’t serve, they must not sit.
- Raise a new generation to value character over cash, and service over status.
- Participate in advocacy, reform, integrity-based governance, and active nation-building.
⚠️ TO THE CORRUPT AND UNREPENTANT:
There is a reward for every action.
Those who loot today to secure their tomorrow will be remembered, not for their wealth, but for their betrayal.
History never sympathizes with those who sabotage their own nation.
Let us search our hearts. Let us purify our motives. And let us commit to being builders, not destroyers, of Nigeria’s destiny.
🔔 GNA’s Call to Action: This Is the Time to Arise
The Great Nigerian Assembly is not a political party. We are a global movement of patriotic professionals — Nigerians at home and abroad — who believe that Nigeria’s greatness lies in its people, not just its politics.
This is the season for Great Nigerians to rise:
- ✅ Those willing to stand for truth
- ✅ Those willing to serve their communities
- ✅ Those willing to think beyond themselves
- ✅ Those willing to leave a legacy for generations yet unborn
We cannot wait for salvation from above. We must rebuild Nigeria from the grassroots up.
One action. One voice. One citizen at a time.

We are not searching for saints — not Jesus, Mohammed, or Obatala. We are searching for accountable citizens with genuine intentions, who want their names to be written in the chronicles of history as nation-builders.
