Iran’s military on Thursday vowed to carry out “crushing” attacks against the United States and Israel following threats from former US President Donald Trump, who warned he could bomb the country into the “Stone Ages” in the coming weeks.
In a statement carried by state television, the Khatam Al-Anbiya Operational Command, Iran’s top military command, said the country would respond with measures designed to inflict humiliation and lasting regret on its adversaries.
“With trust in Almighty God, this war will continue until your humiliation, disgrace, permanent and certain regret, and surrender,” the statement read. It further warned: “Await our more crushing, broader, and more destructive actions.”
The remarks underscore growing tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as Israel, amid heightened rhetoric over regional security and Iran’s nuclear program. The military’s declaration reflects Tehran’s commitment to a robust response, signaling that it views threats from the US as unacceptable provocations that demand a strong show of force.
While no specific details were provided about the planned actions, the statement emphasized the scope and severity of Iran’s intended response. Analysts note that such language is typical in Tehran’s strategic communications, aiming to convey resolve and deter external aggression while rallying domestic support.
Trump’s recent statements have escalated concern in the international community, with calls for diplomacy and restraint from various world leaders. The former US President’s warnings to “bring Iran to the Stone Ages” in military terms have been criticized by experts as highly provocative, potentially increasing the risk of miscalculation or confrontation.
Iran’s military response highlights the persistent volatility in the Middle East, where tensions between Tehran, Washington, and Israel have persisted for decades. The rhetoric is likely to intensify debates in international diplomatic circles over measures to de-escalate the situation, prevent military conflict, and ensure regional stability.
As both sides exchange increasingly severe statements, the global community continues to watch closely, emphasizing the urgent need for diplomatic engagement to avoid potential escalation into direct conflict.
