Nollywood actor and filmmaker Odunlade Adekola has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming Yoruba language film, *Lakatabu*. The movie, which features Adebayo Salami, Adedimeji Lateef, and Akin Lewis, is scheduled for release in cinemas on June 21, 2024.
The trailer introduces Adekola as Lakatabu, an armed robber with magical abilities who engages in acts of terror, kidnapping, and murder. The tension rises as he starts receiving threats from his rivals. The film explores the challenges faced by Lakatabu, the fear he instills, and the ramifications of his power.
Directed by Adekola and co-produced by Odunlade Adekola Film Productions and FilmOne Studios, *Lakatabu* boasts an extensive cast including Samuel A. Perry (Brodashaggi), Eniola Ajao, Aderinoye Babatunde, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Mr. Latin, Bolanle Ninalowo, and Adunni Ade.
Adekola rose to fame with his lead role in the 2003 Nollywood film *Ishola Durojaye* and has since become a prominent figure in Yoruba cinema. Renowned for his compelling performances and directorial skills, Adekola’s dedication to his craft has garnered him two Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA): Best Actor in a Comedy for *A Million Baby* (2018) and Best Supporting Actor for *Jankariwo* (2022).
