Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has revealed that he met over ₦600 billion in the state’s coffers upon resuming office after the period of emergency rule.
The governor made the disclosure while addressing political leaders, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt, noting that the funds represent a strong financial base for the state’s development agenda.
Fubara said his administration is committed to prudence, transparency and accountability in the management of public resources, stressing that the money would be deployed strictly in the interest of Rivers people.
He identified infrastructure development, education and healthcare as top priorities, adding that strategic investments in these sectors would help stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life across the state.
The governor also assured residents that his government would publish regular financial updates to keep the public informed and to promote trust in governance.
