Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has shared a humorous account of an incident in 2017 when he was denied access to Kelechi Iheanacho’s hotel room by a fellow national team player.
Osimhen, who was still an emerging talent at the time, recounted that he had attempted to visit Iheanacho but was stopped by a senior player who insisted that he could not enter. The experience, he said, was both surprising and motivating.
“It made me realize the hierarchy in the team and pushed me to work harder,” Osimhen noted. He added that the incident played a role in shaping his determination to succeed at the highest level.
Since then, Osimhen has risen to become one of Africa’s top footballers, earning recognition for his performances both at club level and with the national team.
