Pisa president Giuseppe Corrado has revealed that the club would like to sign Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro on a permanent deal, but Inter Milan will ultimately decide his future.
Akinsanmiro joined Inter Milan’s academy in 2023 from Nigerian club Beyond Limits. Since then, he has continued to develop but is yet to break into Inter’s senior squad.
Last season, he spent a loan spell at Serie B side Sampdoria, where he delivered a solid campaign before returning to Inter.
During the summer, he moved again—this time to newly-promoted Serie A side Pisa on another season-long loan.
At Pisa, the 21-year-old has made significant progress and is now regarded as one of the club’s most important players.
Can Pisa sign Ebenezer Akinsanmiro permanently?
Akinsanmiro’s loan deal at Pisa includes an option to buy. Pisa can trigger that clause.
However, even if they do, Inter Milan still hold the power in the final decision because they included a buyback clause in his contract.
This means Inter can bring him back in the future if they are satisfied with his development.
Speaking after Pisa’s match against Inter Milan on Sunday, Corrado explained the true situation.
“Akinsanmiro is a strong player; he’s Inter Milan’s, but we have the right to buy him,” Corrado told Napoli Magazine.
“Of course, Inter also have the option to buy him back, but he’s a player we believe has found the ideal place to grow at Pisa. We would have liked to have him.”
Akinsanmiro has been out injured for three weeks and has missed Pisa’s last two matches.
He is expected to return to action against Parma on December 8.
