A distressed mother has appealed to Nigerians for assistance after her daughter was kidnapped while travelling to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp.
A video circulating widely on social media shows the woman crying openly in a market, pleading with members of the public to help her raise money to secure her daughter’s release. The footage has gone viral on X and was highlighted by Trending Explained on Thursday.
The victim, Binuyo Lateefah, is a recent Mass Communication graduate of Kwara State Polytechnic. She was reportedly abducted in Kogi State while travelling to the NYSC camp in Taraba State. According to reports, she is her mother’s only child, heightening the family’s distress.
The kidnappers are said to be demanding a ransom of ₦30 million for her release. However, the family has been able to raise only ₦1 million so far. In her emotional plea, the mother begged Nigerians to come to her aid, stressing the urgency of the situation.
