Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has mourned the death of a former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Mr Gboyega Famodun, describing his passing as a great loss to the political community and the people of Osun.
The governor expressed his condolences in a statement issued on Sunday, where he commiserated with the family of the late APC chieftain, his political associates and members of the party over the painful loss.
Governor Adeleke said that despite belonging to different political parties, Famodun played notable roles in the political development of Osun State and contributed meaningfully to democratic engagement in the state.
According to the governor, the late APC chairman was known for his strong commitment to party organisation and grassroots politics, adding that his death has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
He extended his sympathies to the leadership of the APC in Osun State, urging them to take solace in the impactful life lived by the late party leader.
Adeleke also prayed for the repose of Famodun’s soul, asking God to grant his family, friends and political associates the strength to bear the loss.
Famodun served as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State for several years and was a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape.
