The Special Adviser on Information to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Ibrahim Adam, has confirmed the removal of Buba Galadima as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic, stating that the decision was based strictly on performance-related concerns.
Adam disclosed in a Facebook post on Friday night that Galadima’s appointment was formally terminated on February 14, 2026. He shared images of both the appointment and termination letters to substantiate the announcement.
According to Adam, the action followed an assessment of Galadima’s performance in office. He maintained that the decision had no political undertone but was rooted in administrative considerations.
“While everyone is entitled to their opinion, it is important to state that his removal was based purely on performance issues, particularly concerns about massive incompetence and his inability to diligently discharge the responsibilities of the office,” Adam stated.
He emphasized that public service is anchored on accountability and measurable results, adding that government officials must meet defined expectations in order to retain public trust.
“Public service is a trust, and when expectations are not met, the government has a duty to act in the best interest of the institution and the people,” he said.
Adam also extended goodwill to Galadima, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
The development comes amid recent public criticisms by Galadima directed at the Kano State Government. He had allegedly accused Governor Yusuf of using the Department of State Services (DSS) to suppress opposition voices within the state.
While Adam did not directly address the allegations against the governor in his statement, he suggested that Galadima’s recent comments may be connected to his removal from office.
As of the time of filing this report, Galadima had not issued an official response to the confirmation of his dismissal.
