The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced designated pick-up points for its Go-Cashless cards ahead of the March 1 implementation deadline.
The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Friday in Lagos and signed by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Henry Agbebire. According to the statement, members of the public can obtain the Go-Cashless cards at all FAAN commercial offices and access gates nationwide with immediate effect.
Agbebire further stated that the cards would also be available at designated branches of Fidelity Bank Plc beginning March 16, providing additional access points for airport users and other stakeholders.
He explained that the introduction of the Go-Cashless card aligns with a Federal Government directive mandating all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to adopt a cashless system for transactions. The policy, he said, is aimed at strengthening financial accountability across government institutions.
According to FAAN, the transition to a cashless framework is expected to enhance transparency, minimize revenue leakages, and improve transaction traceability within airport operations and other government-related services.
Agbebire reiterated the authority’s commitment to full compliance with the directive and appealed to airport users and stakeholders for understanding and cooperation during the transition period. He emphasized that the implementation is part of broader reforms to modernize operational processes and align with global best practices in airport management.
He also clarified that the Go-Cashless cards would continue to be available at designated points even after the March 1 deadline, ensuring that users who may not obtain their cards before the date are not excluded from accessing services.
FAAN assured the public that the initiative would facilitate faster, safer, and more convenient transactions at airports nationwide, reducing reliance on physical cash handling and streamlining payment processes across its facilities.
