The Federal Capital Territory Administration will on Tuesday commence a major round of Computer-Based Test promotion examinations involving no fewer than 8,000 civil servants drawn from 165 cadres within the FCTA and the Federal Capital Development Authority.

The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the development in a statement issued on Sunday, noting that the exercise will run for five consecutive days. According to him, the examinations are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 25, and will continue until Saturday, November 29, 2025. The tests will take place at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road in Abuja.

Ezeh emphasized that the examination is part of ongoing reforms aimed at deepening merit-based promotions, enhancing professionalism, and strengthening capacity across the FCT workforce.

The new round of tests follows an earlier milestone recorded on August 12, 2025, when the FCTA conducted its first-ever Computer-Based Promotion Examination. The results of that exercise were released on August 26, with 49 deputy directors promoted to full directors across various departments after receiving approval from the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The Commission said it expects a smooth and transparent process, adding that logistics have been put in place to ensure the exams are conducted efficiently and in line with civil service standards. The promotion exercise is seen as a significant step toward institutionalizing digital assessment within the FCT civil service.
