The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of election results for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections on its INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
As of 9:04 p.m. on Saturday, results from polling units across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory had begun appearing on the portal, several hours after voting concluded. The uploads showed that collation was ongoing across the territory, with results gradually trickling in from various polling units.
Data available on the portal at the time indicated that results for the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election were 56.72 per cent uploaded. Similarly, the Gwagwalada Area Council chairmanship contest had reached 65.68 per cent completion, reflecting faster collation in some councils than others.
INEC is expected to continue the upload process until results from all polling units are fully transmitted and collated. The commission noted that the IReV portal remains a key tool for promoting transparency and public confidence in the electoral process by enabling citizens and stakeholders to monitor results in real time.
In addition to the FCT council elections, INEC is also uploading results from other polls conducted on the same day. These include the by-elections held in Kano State and Rivers State, covering both legislative and local contests.
The commission urged the public to rely on official INEC platforms for verified information and to remain patient as the result-upload process continues.
