Emirates Airline has announced the immediate suspension of all flights to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) until further notice, citing ongoing airspace closures across parts of the Middle East.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the airline said the measure was taken as a precautionary step due to growing regional tensions and flight route restrictions affecting multiple airlines.
“All flights to and from Dubai have been suspended until further notice. Please do not go to the airport. Emirates will share updates when available,” the airline said.
The airline also appealed for patience and understanding from passengers affected by the disruption.
“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience as we closely monitor the situation,” the statement added.
Earlier travel advisories had indicated that scheduled commercial flight operations would remain halted until 23:59 UAE time on March 7. However, the latest announcement extends the suspension indefinitely as authorities continue to evaluate the evolving security situation in the region.
The decision comes amid rising geopolitical tensions across the Middle East, which have led to widespread airspace restrictions in several countries.
Airlines operating in the region have been forced to adjust flight paths, cancel services, or suspend operations altogether due to safety concerns and the risk posed by ongoing military activity.
Emirates therefore advised passengers with travel plans involving Dubai to stay updated through the airline’s official communication channels.
“Passengers scheduled to travel through Dubai are advised to monitor updates from Emirates and check their flight status before making any arrangements to travel to the airport,” the airline said.
Dubai is one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, with Dubai International Airport serving as a major transit point for millions of passengers travelling between Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Industry analysts warn that prolonged flight suspensions could significantly disrupt global travel schedules and cargo logistics if the regional situation persists.
