Hassana Shuaibu Dada, Assistant National Youth Leader North Central of the African Democratic Congress, has condemned what she described as politically motivated and selective prosecutions targeting former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Dada accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of using the investigations as a strategy to weaken the party, which she said is emerging as a strong alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
According to her, the prosecutions are intended to intimidate opposition figures and discourage political competition. She insisted that the party would not be deterred, describing the move as a deliberate attempt to undermine the ADC’s growing influence in the country’s political landscape.
Dada expressed solidarity with the affected leaders and party members nationwide, maintaining that the actions would instead strengthen the unity and determination of the party. She stressed that the ADC remains committed to justice, inclusion, and national renewal.
She further urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and support the party as a credible platform for good governance and national development, adding that the party would continue to champion democratic values and resist any attempt to silence opposition voices.
