Aliko Dangote has assured Nigerians that the Dangote Refinery will prioritise price stability in the domestic fuel market while also preparing for a future listing of refinery stocks on the Nigerian Exchange. Speaking at a business forum in Lagos, Dangote said the company remains committed to easing the burden of high fuel costs on households and businesses.
He explained that as local refining capacity improves, Nigeria will rely less on imports, helping to stabilise prices and reduce pressure on foreign exchange. According to him, the refinery’s long term vision includes opening ownership to Nigerians through public listing, giving citizens a chance to benefit directly from one of Africa’s largest industrial investments.
Market analysts see the move as a potential boost for investor confidence and capital market growth. If successfully listed, the refinery could become one of the most valuable stocks on the exchange, creating new opportunities for pension funds, retail investors, and institutional stakeholders across the country.
