A Nigerian businessman and social media personality, Isaac Fayose, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not secure up to 20 per cent of votes from the South East in the 2027 presidential election.
Fayose made the claim in a Facebook post while reacting to the recent activities of the City Boys Movement in Owerri.
Members of the City Boys Movement, a campaign group established by Seyi Tinubu, had earlier visited Imo State during the week as part of efforts to mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.
However, the outing reportedly attracted criticism on social media over what observers described as a low turnout of supporters despite the presence of several celebrities. Among those who attended the event was popular socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest.
Reacting to the development, Fayose described the event as unimpressive and claimed that the number of security personnel present at the venue exceeded the crowd of supporters.
He further said he was willing to stake N10 million on his prediction that President Tinubu would fail to secure 20 per cent of the votes from the South East in the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, the outcome would only be different if the election was manipulated.
“The City Boys movement outing in Owerri, Imo State yesterday was a show of shame. Security operatives wey dey there pass the crowd,” he wrote.
“I am ready to bet any of them with N10 million. President Tinubu won’t get 20 per cent of the total votes cast come 2027 unless the election is rigged,” he added.
The statement has since sparked reactions on social media, with supporters and critics of the president expressing differing views on the claim.
