Gunmen have abducted a 16-year-old boy and six teenage girls from Gidan-Bijimi in Kawu ward, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Sources within the community confirmed the incident, which has heightened fear among residents. Details about the circumstances surrounding the attack, including the identity of the perpetrators and the exact time of the abduction, are still emerging.
Authorities in the FCT are reportedly mobilising security operatives to track the assailants and ensure the safe release of the victims. Local leaders have called for calm and urged the community to assist security agencies with any information that could aid in rescuing the abducted children.
The FCT Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
This abduction comes amid growing concerns over security in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly in areas bordering remote and forested communities. Residents are being urged to remain vigilant while the authorities work to secure the release of the victims.
